“The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary.”
H.L. Mencken
We are pleased to reproduce here a brilliant article written by Howard Stupak MD, originally published on Medium here. Howard recently tweeted the text of the article here. The version here is substantially ‘tightened up’.
Howard is board certified in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery as well as Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, practicing as associate professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, NY, USA.
In the piece, Howard starts off with the realization that to determine the origins of the covid “event” we need to look back much further than 2019 - by decades in fact.
The ‘pandemic’ (the quote marks indicating our agreement with Howard as to the synthetic nature of the event) - can be seen as the inevitable result of a decades-long ‘arms race’ between competing ideologies to demonstrate to their populations how they can tame viral pandemics, thereby underlining the important role of the state in maintaining a safe society.
Howard also describes how the burgeoning bureaucracies of ‘public health’, and the commercial interests of pharmaceutical companies, are hugely incentivised to maintain this fiction as well.
However, as Howard explains, a cursory examination of basic biology leads one to conclude that the notion of attaining control over viral pandemics is purely illusory.
The article is long, but well worth investing the time reading. Enjoy.
Pandemic threats: A tool for social control?
I wasted a lot of time looking at specific data and trying to reconcile what the media and so-called medical establishment was saying about THE coronavirus and what the constraints of reality were. And of course, like most of us, I got nowhere, or not very far because the whole thing is not just one lie or propagandist information but an entire web of it, from its surface to its rotten foundation. But, until now, the key was that I only looked as far back as 2019, whereas the real story starts much earlier with errors made years ago, that once widely accepted set the ball rolling towards literal inevitability (with a little help from proponents).
Necessary suppositions
Before we begin, we must make some suppositions that are diametrically opposed to the conventional medical narrative. If you cannot accept these basic suppositions, you may as well not read this article, as you will not accept its premise, so may as well enjoy yourself watching cable news instead:
Principle 1. Inevitability and weather relatedness. Winter respiratory illness is an inevitable part of every northern winter and tropical/desert summer. It is due to the effect of climate extremes (low or high humidity or heat) on the lining of the respiratory tract from the nose to the ends of the lungs (alveoli). When humidity in the classic winter for example is very low, compounded by drying heating systems, mucosa or lining cells break down, and must be repaired by immune and healing cells, and have invasive particles and organisms that colonize the individual prevented from entering deeper layers of tissue. An individual’s susceptibility depends then on the overall health of their tissues and the degree of weather extreme damage on tissue.
Principle 2. The systemic (fever producing) version of winter related weather illness is called influenza. It is self-limiting in the healthy, and dangerous in the unhealthy and immune-limited. A virus named influenza-virus was discovered in the mid-20th century, and may be related to many cases of this, but the vast majority (>80%) have unknown particles associated, or many various viruses associated, including various coronaviruses. This condition, the most common type, as most people do not seek medical care for it, is simply known as Influenza Like Illness (ILI). An ILI is as old as mammals. It is simply a systemic (fever-like) reaction to weather related damage to the airway. It is part of life, and always has been, and has great variability, like the earth’s weather patterns. There is no beginning, middle or end to it any more than there is to an ocean. It may not even be triggered by the viral particles for certain but is possibly only associated with them. Cause and effect are hard to prove in medicine, especially that giving these particles to individuals in experiments does not cause the disease, leading us to our next point.
Principle 3. Tests are not informative. Tests of respiratory virus particles, particularly Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) amplification, may or may not be remotely useful measures of actual disease, and even in the event of disease, should not have any bearing on clinical or population management, as in reality there is no reason to believe that any sort of measure alters course of illness. Thus, high numbers of test positive cases may not have anything to do with the actual course of ILI season, and test availability and accuracy limits distort the lack of utility even further. Perhaps.
Both an environmental/host interaction and an “infectious” component co-exist in some sort of equilibrium that we do not fully understand, but the first step is acknowledging that incompleteness in itself.
The bottom line is that we should not pretend that whatever our contrived tests show, or theories predict should not inform how we manage the real world, particularly when giving orders to the masses.
So, with this caution, we can look with open eyes at the select moments in history where the unknown and unlikely became paradoxically accepted as fact, at the intersection of politics, power and nature:
So, onwards with our story:
The binary response of the party of the proletariat to mass illness
The story begins with a poem, written by Mao Tse-Tung, July 1, 1958, called “Farewell to the God of Plague”.
So many green streams and blue hills, but to what avail
This tiny creature left even Hua To powerless
Hundreds of villages choked with weeds, med wasted away;
Thousands of homes deserted, ghosts chanted mournfully
Motionless, by earth I travel eighty thousand li a day,
Surveying the sky I see a myriad Milky Ways from afar.
Should the Cowherd ask tidings of the God of Plague
Say the same griefs flow down the stream of time
II
The spring wind blows amid profuse willow wands
Six hundred million in this land all equal Yao and Shun.
Crimson rain swirls in waves under our will,
Green mountains turn to bridges at our wish.
Gleaming mattock fall of the Five Ridges heaven-high;
Mighty arms move to rock the earth round the Triple River
We ask the God of Plague: “Where are you bound?”
Paper barges aflame and candle-light illuminate the Sky
So, why is Mao Tse-Tung, the proletariat revolutionary and eventual authoritarian leader of the Chinese Communist State writing poems about saying goodbye to a plague?
The answer is three-fold. The goal of the Party of the Proletariat is to:
demonstrate to the people that they care about their well-being and
demonstrate the technological power of the state, in putting its weight into a project that will have a “successful” conclusion, and
by giving the proletariat something to work for en masse that they will feel that they have achieved something in coordination with the party.
In other words, a plague, or really its complete “removal” by the state itself is actually beneficial to the state.
And while the poem itself is about the conquering of a water-borne parasitic illness called schistosomiasis, an even more opportunist “plague” for a state to remove is influenza, or seasonal respiratory illness. Why? Because in temperate climates, it nearly completely disappears with the approach of spring and summer. There is nothing like the show of a massive state effort that concludes in complete eradication of the “enemy” just in time to prove that the great “effort” by all worked out just right and just in time. This works particularly well, as the proletariat is not educated enough to refute that the efforts and the end of the plague are unrelated, and is pleased that such great lengths were gone to by the parent state for the most susceptible part of the population.
So, does this mean that states run by the Parties (of the Proletariat) prefer to have constant plagues and pandemics? No, not at all. Actually, they prefer to have none.
But if given the inevitability of our suppositions there are only two versions that are palatable to the Party: the dangerous plague/pandemic that is rising and is eventually conquered through hard work by the people/leaders, and no pandemic at all as in 0 or 1 expressed as a binary outcome.
In other words, only two options exist for the state technocrat to frame illness:
either it is rendered non-existent thanks to state technology measures (the “0” outcome), or
it becomes a dangerously rising plague that could and will harm the most vulnerable supporters of the regime (the “1” outcome).
Thus, the routine cold and flu seasons, the reality of nature, which occurs with some variation in amplitude, is not mentioned by the state, as it has nothing to do with the state, and thus the thoughtful citizen is not expected or able to communicate about these matters with the state. Therefore, in most years, the top-down authoritarian state prefers its technocrats to remain quiet and not to start ‘rumours’ about plagues or pandemics, lest they become real. Hence, they punish non-central government reporting of such events.
One might ask then, why doesn’t the Party quash all rumours about plagues before they begin with draconian measures instead of putting on a show of “fixing” the problem with a show of might? The answer to that lies with those outsiders who have a particular interest in publicizing diseases in China. In other words, state actors are not the only ones who understand the tidal-like rise and fall of seasonal respiratory illness. Furthermore, these outsiders can use it to advance their own interests. And the state cannot erase all of these outside reports without appearing un-scientific or uninformed to even its supporters, thus must have an alternative solution to this situation.
Imperial scientific adventurers
There is nothing more advantageous to a scientist or virologist seeking funding, from naïve western government funding agencies, than to display the illusion of control and predictability in managing an infinite ocean of illness and then seek to ‘do good’. And nothing motivates this same funding as much as tacit xenophobia: what ‘sounds good’ to ignorant bureaucrats, and the hidden remnant of British Empire colonialization. Of course, this phenomenon did not start in 2020, but is instead to be found in the final embers of the once proud Empire.
So, where did the idea that ILIs could be stopped or prevented begin in the first place? It began when some adventurous “scientists” decided that influenza had a beginning or origin. Which of course then implies that it could be trapped at its origin and prevented from reaching the rest of the world. Now, as influenza particles are ubiquitous, ever-evolving and as wide-spread as the ocean, of course both finding an origin, and stopping it ‘in its tracks’ are as absurdly impossible as finding the origin of the tides in Australia to save beaches in Miami. But that did not stop researchers in the 1970s and 1980s from proposing such a concept.
Research ideas that appeal to western politicians frequently appeal to xenophobes and those seeking power. Funding research into the origins of influenza, particularly that it had its origins in China, a country only marginally friendly to the West, must have had some exotic appeal. But most importantly, then, these medical adventurers are a projection of Empire, an opportunity to have its citizens well- established in the right places in the right countries.
A particularly influential and prolific researcher on the topic was Kennedy F. Shortridge, an Australian ex-patriate who became a researcher in Hong-Kong and regularly visited China to collect artwork and specimens for his work. He was a classic remnant of the fading British Empire, with an abundance of reasons to participate in medical adventurism. He strongly pushed the idea that because travellers came through the travel hub Hong Kong with flu-like complaints after visiting southern China, that its origins and epicentre must lies there.
In particular, he and others blamed the proximity of children and adults to livestock as the initiator of yearly influenza epidemics, thus implying that if this rural practice could be discontinued, influenza epidemics would cease forever. This is of course, completely absurd, but is accepted as the basis for much virology funding and research. It posits a simple Holy Grail concept that could never be fulfilled, but provides an appealing narrative to grant agencies, and especially government bureaucrats. Thus, a researcher like Shortridge via academic papers and grant applications could impose a theoretical construct that the world is always in a state of (1) - impending plague disaster - in order to receive more funding and attract attention for prior work. It is not unusual in research to promote a permanent grail quest for the obvious reason that it becomes self-filling feeding trough of funding.
For example, if we consider cellular regeneration, it is only a Hollywood fantasy that the right combination of drugs injected or sprinkled on the cells will permit them to be restored, despite fifty years of always being on the verge of a breakthrough, because it is tissue that dies not the cells. Hence, it is in the careerist interest of the virologists to claim an unprovable and impossible causality that influenza originates in China to create a permanent FUNDED quest to seek its true origin so that it may be stopped in its tracks, and thus a permanent binary state of (1), or pandemic always on the verge of becoming “exponential”.
This Western ‘imperialist’ motivation stands in direct opposition to the Chinese state’s preferred state of (0) - non-existent plague. So, for the latter part of the twentieth century, an uneasy equilibrium exists between these two opposing forces, where pandemics might occur (1), but are always caught “in time” by the state, and returned to (0), thus displaying the technical might of the state. But because Western scientist outsiders are considered to be more “sophisticated” than Eastern counterparts, the publics of most nations, including the Chinese, tolerate the supposedly “advanced” Western scientists hunting for viruses and pathogens in places they would never normally not be tolerated.
Contrast this situation with the United States, which would not tolerate scientists from somewhere like Cambodia routinely swabbing bison for disease in Yellowstone Park. Nor would they permit scientists from Uzbekistan to wander the Everglades swabbing heron or gators. Most likely, they would be arrested by local or state governments. But the central governments of even intolerant China accept the presence of scientific adventurers because prevailing public opinion is that their presence is beneficial: they are ‘the sophisticated ones’ and throwing them out would be a national embarrassment.
The West tilts to totalitarianism
This equilibrium changed after September 11, 2001.
In supposed response to the terrorist attacks and Anthrax scares in the United States, much greater funding and attention were paid to biological threats to the West, shifting equilibrium in the favor of the scientific adventurers in their fictional quest.
Otherwise, inevitable variations of natural coronaviruses were labelled as severe acute respiratory syndromes, such as 2003’s SARS scare, where even though the vast majority of people who supposedly caught it were asymptomatic. Thus, the perceived danger of pandemics was inflated and the predictions of the scientific adventurers, such as Shortridge were confirmed. Their theories became ‘true’ almost exactly as expected, yielding even more attention and, of course, funding, thus beating the drums of the impending disaster.
It took until 2004 with international cries of disaster, state of (1), to force the attention of the Chinese state, creating embarrassment until draconian state measures, including closures of villages and mass quarantines, were applied resulting in a (0) state coincident with the arrival of summer. Despite the harsh behaviour and human rights violations, China was praised by international authorities, setting the stage for today.
But what most observers miss is that the Chinese state also initiated a sentence of 5 years penal servitude for anyone, at the local level, caught spreading rumours of pandemics. This action is entirely consistent with their view that the ‘plague’ only ever appears by virtue of unnecessary alarmism by those not operating in the interests of the state and the proletariat.
Thus, the Chinese state sought to maintain at all costs its (0) preference. And they were able to heroically maintain this zero-state until they lost control in the flu season of 2019, partly because of the interference of the medical adventurers.
When the 33-year-old Li Wenliang went online to tell the world about a small number of pneumonia cases caused by a novel pathogen, the Hubei province government’s response was to accuse him of spreading rumours. And then once the word was out, the central Chinese government was obliged to reestablish control and so punished Hubei province by displaying its maximal plague quashing abilities by completely encircling the city of Wuhan with unprecedented tyranny. the aim being to enforce a successful transition from (1) to (0). Furthermore, they literally named their success: zero covid and pretended to continue to apply zero covid for years, using a combination of top-down suppression and subterfuge.
Of course, Li Wenliang had to die of ‘covid’ both to convince the audience how severe the (1) state of disease was, how lethal it was to the young, and to send an unambiguously clear message to future whistleblowers. There are injectable drugs like ricin that simulate death from flu-like symptoms.
Western leaders like Trump preferred to reassure initially, tending towards a (0) state by force of will and lack of testing (the key). But unlike in China where the provincial government is subservient to the state, he could not force the states to not test, thus endangering the (0) state. Andrew Cuomo of New York decided to push for maximal (1) state, with computer modellers predicting exponentiality (of course), and pivoting to the Wuhan draconian model. Unfortunately, this then pushed Trump to also pivot to the (1) state in order to compete for control with his new rival Cuomo.
Suddenly mass testing, with help from China, became feasible on a mass scale, as the nation tipped fully into the (1) state with massive testing capacity and fear from the public, producing a totalitarian solution.
The two compete for the right to do so, and the predicted becomes the inevitable.
Thus, unlike in Wuhan, where the Chinese central government supersedes the provincial, instead of the cessation of tests as spring approached (which would fix the problem), the federal and state government in the US continued to compete to ramp up testing and fear, remaining in a (1) mode, even though other options were available. The perseverance of the (1) mode, of expected escalation and exponentiality of flu season, beyond reason was also due to forces that encouraged escalation for both profiteering and ideology or power. The first from the pharmaceutical industry who sought to get the credit and revenue for heroically returning the world to (0) mode and the second, from the so-called “liberal” parties, that took a page from the Chinese and decided to pivot to the binary mode in all spheres. They thus promoted (1) impending disasters in climate, race, gender and disease; all issues that only with totalitarian government intervention and planning could revert to (0), eventually. In this way the binary model afforded a simple view of the world and permitted the consolidation of power, including alterations in electoral practices (for “safety”) and every other arena of life.
Conclusions
We have reviewed the progression of the utility of the plague to state and central governments, as they focus solely on two modes of existence: (1) escalating towards plague and (0) defeating non-existing plague. Both modes do not admit the role of nature given that the flu season is inevitable and related to local climate. Both modes (0) and (1) are thus highly destructive to the function of the individual in society.
Any individual can be positioned using the two false plague states (0) and (1), and the natural state of seasonal flu. For example, a parent will always choose the natural states, understanding that in winter, colds are part of the experience of school, while the big Pharma profiteer or medical adventurer will prefer the permanent (1) state, and occasional (0) lulls during which they can accept awards and accolades for heroic service and timely cures.
What (evil) lesson did the United States federal government (and other western governments) learn from the Chinese response to covid ‘pandemic’ compared to their own? That the Federal government must achieve primacy over state governments in all aspects of crisis.
In order to declare crisis over “climate change”, lack of “equity”, foreign military adventures and endless “epidemics”, state (1), and eventually declare victory over these manufactured crises, state (0), state and local voices must be silenced and subservient to federal priorities. Before 2020, the United States would have avoided a SARS pandemic simply by not testing sufficiently, with leaders correctly reassuring the public that nothing was happening. But strongly influenced by Howard Zucker (former assistant director of WHO) Andrew Cuomo, and the New York State government, sought to compete with Donald Trump and the federal government. Trump was then pushed and influenced by Anthony Fauci and others to enact mass testing, and draconian lockdowns and the even more fatal instruments of death in flu management: ventilators.
The competition between federal and state forces drove the crisis and its false solutions. So, the most cynical in the US federal government realized that the only way to continue to run false crises and their solution projects was to achieve unity via federal government primacy, to effectively adopt the successful Chinese model that achieved (0) - zero covid. But they could only do so through manipulation and suppression. Thus, this led to a unity of federal forces, led by the chief manipulators at the CDC, who then hired Zucker to a high-level position, not in spite of his failure, but because he purposely drove the crisis when he could have stayed silent.
The new goal of the federal government is no longer to just extend the Empire through the original medical adventurers, but to also extend the reach of the ‘Empire within’ by removing the rights of state and local government as well as the individual by placing all entities under the guidance of agencies like the CDC.
How does one counter the (0) and (1) modes of plague in their own societies, particularly in light of the expansion of the Federalist Empire? Firstly, by uniting all of the dissenting arms of society, no matter how dissimilar they may be or how they view the falseness of the (0/1) world. Secondly, they must constantly and publicly defy central government and deny the existence of the binary plague paradigm in order to prevent it from taking hold permanently.
Let us disrupt these two mythical views of the world to the best of our abilities, unite to reject the world of binary choice and its profiteers, and choose to live free and productive lives, lest there arrive a future American Mao who writes poems about defeating false plagues:
“Not-knowing is true knowledge.
Presuming to know is a disease.
First realize that you are sick;
then you can move toward health.”

What puts fear into me the most is the willing compliance of the masses wanting and waiting to be told what to do, no scepticism just willingness. I remember the overwhelming feeling of fear I had when the masses rushed towards all the covid measures without question no matter how bizarre they became. Watching them line up for their injections was a nightmare I will never forget and the feeling of helplessness as they were encouraged to pour venom on others who made a different choice. Excellent high quality article, thank you.
Insightful. But what stupifies me most about the latest ‘pandemic’ is the fact that the vast majority of the medical profession seem not to have been aware that - as a consequence of fundamental biology and whether engineered or otherwise - an RNA virus like a coronavirus lacks the replication fidelity to drive any sort of deadly global contagion. You can excuse the general public for not knowing this, but for the medical profession this has to be a crushing indictment of educational standards.
