It's only "purported" to be on the right because Elon chose Trump over Harris and the Dems. I don't know how "right" or conservative Mr Musk is, but I highly doubt he's a political conservative. He's many things, but likely not that. Furthermore, I also believe (and have read) that the vast majority of X/Twitter employees have not been replaced, so the same people involved in the censoring and shadow-banning from the 1st term Trump and later Biden years are likely still playing their censorious games. Between his wive(s?) and children and business, I doubt Elon has much extra bandwidth to monitor the banning/censoring actions on X. But my point about not understanding or being intolerant of free speech stands. It is not conservatives who are violently intolerant of counter political thoughts; in every instance I can think of in recent history, it has always been the totalitarian left. To ignore the correlation is to ignore history.
Honestly, we've always been divided. During the time of the American revolution, the numbers run about one-third Loyalist, one-fourth Patriot, and the rest were plowing their fields or drinking ale in the Boston pubs. The Civil War wasn't exactly a show of unity, either. And I was alive in the 60's, so no, not much unity there either. Divisions occur naturally, and they should not be avoided. It's how civilization progresses - or in some cases, regresses. People do not have a hive-mind mentality; if you want to minimize disagreement, look at countries that think in lockstep. Imperial Japan? Mao's China? Pol Pot's Cambodia?
I welcome a diversity of opinion, let nothing be censored (except porn in libraries, children MUST be protected). But if you want a tolerant society where people freely express their views without fear of fallout? Well, look to history or look at today's western Europe. Do Hungary and Poland arrest people for wrongthink on X?

I am banned from only ‘one’ website. But I don’t miss being banned from the Mensa Debating Forum by the Executive Director. Because Mensa has a culture of ‘complains put in the bin’ and has no email acknowledgement of complaints from members. All known Mensa members in Parliament at the time of Covid, have either left Mensa or Parliament, or died from suspected vaccine injury. The only Mensa members allowed to speak on the Forum, seem to have been brain damaged by spike proteins.
