An update on Excess Deaths 2022-2023

Presented in Tallin, Estonia

I gave a presentation on excess deaths at the “Health Crisis Through the Lens of Scientists and Doctors” conference in Tallin, Estonia on 9th April this year. It is titled “Exploratory Analysis of Global Excess 2022-2023” and updates the analysis I did in December 2022, and which was originally presented at a PANDA event. This update looks at how things are working out in 2023 compared to 2022.

The event was fantastic, and the local Estonian organisers, Dr Helen Lasn and her colleagues, did a great job.

Much of our work is conducted online so meeting so many active and enthusiastic scientists, journalists and members of the public face-to-face made for a very welcome change.

It was an international event with speakers from 11 countries and great talks by Jessica Rose, Jonathan Gilthorpe, Tess Lawrie, Victoria Weinrank, Ann-Cathrin Engwall, Silvia Behrendt, Sergey Saadi, Alexander Henrion Claude, Sven Roman and Natali Prego.
